On October 5, 2022 Aliyah’s mother Alexys unexpectedly passed away, leaving behind a void that seemed insurmountable. Losing a parent is an incredibly challenging experience, especially for a young child. In the midst of grief, Grace's family, extended family and friends provided a supportive embrace, helping her navigate the unfamiliar landscape of sorrow. Though the pain has been deep, Grace's spirit remains resilient. Through tears and laughter, Grace has found solace in cherished memories of her mother. As time has passed, Grace's resilience has begun to shine. She has discovered strength in unexpected places and has learned to carry her mother's love within her heart. The little girl who once laughed freely has began to share her joy once more, a testament to the enduring power of love even in the face of loss. The courage and strength she has shown has encouraged others. Because of her strength, I was able to sit down and write this song.
